How did you get into biking?
The short story is…as a marathon runner, whenever I got injured I rode a bike. As the years went by, for some odd reason, I got slower and couldn’t run as far with out ending up injured. I started riding bikes full time. Soon I could go faster and further than I ever could running. I discovered that cycling is about the healthiest thing a person can do. It is also a real blast! I made a lot of new friends and contribute to helping the planet. Burn fat not oil!
I love our Campus A “Grand Island Half Loop”. There is a lot of smooth roads with wide shoulders and few cars. We can pace-line and really ramp up the speed. On the opposite end of the spectrum; I love any “Ice Cream Ride”. Come on, what’s not to like! My wife, daughter and I did our very first Campus group ride to the Hatch for ice cream four short years ago.
I love the diversity of cyclists of all backgrounds and “bike tribes” coming together to support each other. There is such a cross-over of interests. It’s all about having fun riding bikes.
I love getting out participating in the Great Winter Get Out! I also like riding my trainer and “Zwifting”.
For me and my family the Tuesday night Campus group rides are the highlight of our week. I have made so many great friends and have such good memories over the last four years. Being a coordinator helps keep our Tuesday night rides running smoothly so others can enjoy participating as much as we do.
